China allows work while studying for international students

China has rolled out a new policy in favor of its international students. Starting from 2022, international students would be allowed to work on or off-campus in China.

The option is only available to students who have been enrolled in a higher education institute for more than one year.

No such provisions were previously available to international students in China.

During their studies, international students will be allowed to work for 8 hours a week and not more than 40 hours a month.

However, students can work for up to 80 hours a month during the summer or winter break.

While China has been attracting more and more students to the country for higher education, its work-study and stay-back policy seem weak when compared with other study-abroad destinations.
